I am very happy with EmPower Solar. I did a lot of research and had many quotes from various companies. What stood out to me the most was Jeff and Nancy Cohen both answered my questions and if they did not know the answer, they said they would get back to me, which they did. I did not feel rushed or pushed in anyway. One of the many reasons of why I had gone with this company. They followed up as well after the panels were installed.Jeff and Nancy had sent a drone out to my house to view the roof and the amount of sunlight. I was very impressed by the pictures and their presentation that they had presented. They were the only company out of 9 that had come to my house to do a very thorough inspection.I had this system installed at the end of March of 2024. They said that I would have a hookup fee with PSEG and that I would only pay max $20 a month. Every bill that I have received from PSEG from April until now in January has been under $17. I have saved so much money so far! This was definitely the right decision.Thank you again EmPower Solar for doing a great job! Thank you, Jeff and Nancy, if it wasn't for your time and patience with me, I don't know what I would have done!

We were very pleased with the entire process and service that we received from EmPower Solar. Professional, quality materials and constant communication during wait period. Our system is installed and now we are only waiting on building inspector to approve then we go full solar. Our system has 26 400 watt panels with the Tesla Wall Block 3 Battery. I considered installing solar panels for ecological and economical reasons. Using NYSERDA’s list of I met with 6 solar companies. Cost, product and service were top considerations. Price ranges were very broad, with the highest proposal double those in the lower range. EmPower wasn’t the lowest but had the most credible organization. Salesperson Beth was knowledgeable across the products, financing options, tax incentives and support that EmPower offered. Other companies were dubious in promoting supposed zero out-of-pocket expense.EmPower was more credible and trustworthy across the board. The project proposal assessed the engineering requirements, current and future energy needs and enhancements to my electrical infrastructure. Several EmPower departments provided milestones and progress updates. They responded to my calls and questions. Their knowledge and experience assured me that EmPower is an organization that competently handles solar installations and related energy requirements.This is not an overnight, off-the-shelf process. Customers need to know there are municipal and power company engagements which add to the project timeline. EmPower did deliver within the projected timeframe. I’m very satisfied with EmPower staff service and technical expertise, concluding with me highly recommending this company to those looking to join the solar energy community.Pictures taken during installation.

This Is for an ongoing project but the experience so far has been amazing with EmPower Solar. From the beginning with Jeff I knew I was in good hands and quickly was able to accommodate project modifications I wanted along the way due to increased energy usage. The installation and onboarding team were very professional and did a good job overall as well. My panels and Tesla 3 battery look amazing. Can’t wait for them to be activated after Pseg approvalUPDATE: System is up. Took a bit longer than expected to get PSEG approval but the EmPower team followed through daily until PSEG finally approved. They also honored all offers that Sunpower had made. Will definitely reach out to them in the future for upgrades as long as Jeff and Nancy are around.

Above all, I have to say that Jeff and Nancy Cohen were the absolute best people I could have worked with from EmPower Solar. They were essential in addressing all of my concerns, guiding me through every step, and ultimately helping me make the decision to go solar. Even after the contract was signed and the installation was completed, Jeff and Nancy remained easily accessible and responded to my questions quickly and efficiently. Their efforts ensured the entire process was incredibly smooth.When EmPower Solar installed my panels, there was one item that needed to be revisited, and they promptly came one morning and took care of it when they had some time. Throughout the entire experience, they were nothing short of professional.Not long after the installation, I learned that SunPower, the company responsible for the warranty on my panels, had filed for bankruptcy. Naturally, I became concerned, as my roof, panels, and inverters were supposed to have a 25-year warranty. I reached out to Jeff and Nancy again, feeling anxious about the situation. Thankfully, Tara and Matt also stepped in, reassuring me with clear explanations about the bankruptcy and letting me know that they believed the warranties would be transferred to another company. I finally received the paperwork and all of my 19 panels are covered by warranty. I'm awaiting the app update from EmPower Solar to continue to monitor my panels as this was part of my contract that I signed.One of the standout aspects of working with EmPower Solar is their excellent communication. They kept me updated throughout every stage of the project, from securing permits to installation and eventually closing out those permits, always making sure I knew what to expect at each point.In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend EmPower Solar. My electric bills for the past few months are exactly what it was told to me that'll be. Great experience with Empower. The sales rep, Andrew, was very clear, upfront, and honest about the entire process and made everything very easy to understand. The installation went very smoothly and they were very accommodating, even bringing a generator so we didn’t lose internet during the install (we work from home). Only reason I’m leaving off 1 star is after our building permit was approved, we didn’t hear back from empower for over 2 months and had to reach out for an update. We needed an additional roof inspection we weren’t informed about it. Terry made it right and made the rest of the process super easy. Overall, a great experience and I’d recommend working with them.

Really like their Salesperson Gen who provided professional advice and very reasonable pricing. When all other companies quote me a high price and told me they would match other company’s price with$10-$15k lower than their original quote, Empower is the only company that quote me a reasonable price from the beginning.Installation is clean and fast. Job was done well and the person who installed the panels answered all my question.The only reason why i reduce 1 star here is the wait time for the installation. Mine is a special case with contract being re-signed once but the whole process took 6 months and I am waiting for DOB inspection to start using solar.

The installation crew led by Daryl and supervised by Chris King were excellent. But, the practice of having offsite people sending instructions to the onsite crew, to me, is a flawed way to do business. The offsite person created confusion that almost resulted in a messy installation as well as wasting my time, the contractor's and the onsite crew. The project manager was also not on hand for the installation. I was not impressed by this mode of working.

I used Empower to install my solar system. From the very beginning they were transparent, my main contact person was there every step of the way. The system works great. After I pay the loan off, I will only pay the connection fee to the grid. I had a problem with something in one of the boxes mounted to the house. I called and the issue was fixed.

I was very pleased with the entire process. The communication all along was key and made us less worried about this whole experience. From Kyle our salesperson who was patient with all the details we requested, to Byron who did his best to move our installation date forward to accommodate our travel plans and finally to the crew who came to install the system for us. Darrell, Justin, Joey and Billy were very kind, respectful and professional.
The only suggestion would be an improvement on the installation timeline and collaboration with town of brookhaven.

EmPower was nothing but excellent in every aspect of my having gone solar. My sales representative/department provided answers to any and all questions I had about moving to solar and what was involved each step of the way. She was also very flexible, patient, and understanding and stayed with me as a changed my mind on various parts of the project. In addition, my project manager kept in touch with me and updated me during each step of review, approval, and scheduling the installation. The best part of it all was that the installation went smoothly and quickly. The complete system was up in less than two days and actually running (producing electricity) midway through the second day of installation. Empower handled the entire design, permitting, and town review process from beginning to end. Very important to know is that their components, from the panels themselves to the support structure or perhaps the best on the market and, best of all, the system works exactly as described and promised. It’s a beautiful beautiful thing to see these panels run my house and build up credits just about every day since it’s been installed. I highly recommend EmPower as the company to consider for your solar installation. The payback in my case will be between six and seven years at the most.

It was not an easy work to go solar for my house due to the irregular shape of the roof with a lot skylight windows and the trenching work to put more panels to my garage as well. Had our solar system installed 2015, and Empower has always stood behind the product and installation.

latest issue was an outage caused by PSEG swapping out a new meter. Empower worked remotely to trouble shoot and resolve. Nice job! thanks to Alexander for the followup!

I just had a 13kW system installed by EmPower. I was extremely impressed with the entire process from start to finish- sales, planning, and the installation itself. Everything was incredibly streamlined. I shouldn't have mentioned the "planning" stage because I literally don't think I did anything at all. Everyone was very helpful, and took their time explaining the nitty gritty details. Overall it was a great experience and I'm very happy with the system. I also signed up for their new community solar project in Selden, so when I'm not powered by my Empower solar system, I'll be getting power from community solar.

I just had Solar installed on my home. I was very skeptical and unsure about it so I did my homework first. I also asked friends and other customers that have had solar installed on their homes. I didn't want to go in clueless so I wouldn't be taken advantage of. I had a few estimates from different companies and I decided on Empower Solar (Sunpower Panels).

From the beginning my consultant was Beth Austin, she presented it so clearly and answered my every question even my tough skeptical questions. She even told me to list whatever questions I had. When I would text or e-mail her with a question she would get back to me as soon as she could and answered it. The install went smoothly and the crew was safe and wore their masks for all our safety. Dean, the project foreman walked me through all of it including the structure part and the tech parts. Byron, the project manager corresponded with me prior to install so I was ready on my end. I learned so much about solar and Empower made me feel that I made the right decision to install solar on my home. I'm excited for my first "0" electric bill.

It's been almost a year since we started our Solar journey with EmPower. We made the decision to switch because of a promotion through my employer, as well as the federal tax incentive to make the switch. We also needed a new roof, so that helped too. The entire process with EmPower was quick and painless. After being referred to EmPower, we met Bethany Austin, our sales rep. She scheduled a time that worked for us, even on weekends, and was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She truly has her customers' best interests at heart. It did take several months for the town to approve our permit, which was no fault of EmPower's. The town's delay did force us to move our project into the following tax year, but EmPower did the right thing by giving us the difference in tax incentive that we were losing out on. The install itself took 3 days. It would normally have taken 2, but the weather didn't exactly cooperate. The install team worked hard, were efficient, considerate, and professional. Once it was complete, they gave us a walk-through and showed us how to use the app to monitor our energy output. In the end, it was completely worth it. I look forward to sunny days when we don't have to use electricity from the grid! Thank you to the entire EmPower team - Bethany and Byron especially for being on top of our project!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Avoid EmPower Solar and save yourself extreme frustration and please go with another company. Prepare to be treated like a transaction with ZERO customer service. If I can give less than a 1-star rating I would.

The last 5 months of signing on with EmPower has been a tremendous disappointment and mentally draining. As a customer/client I wouldn't want this experience for anyone but I have reached a breaking point where I can no longer feel confident EmPower will deliver on what was promised in the original contract agreement. I was never told upfront that this may be a 6-month process. I had a number of other highly qualified vendors that I was considering and decided to take a leap of faith and signed on with EmPower expecting professional service and the project being completed in a timely manner.

My family made a $40K commitment that has now extended into a 5-month process from hell. I am made to feel like I am held captive to supply chain delays with no clear ETA for parts delivery. I have been patient and willing to be empathetic with supply chain issues but receiving an email on 10/11/2022 from the Sr. Project Manager - Alexandra Buckley informing me that we were still 2-3 weeks out on the supply of M425's and for me to consider a change to M420's with less efficiency was too much for me to take.

Sadly, I am no longer excited about going solar powered for my residential needs. I will NOT recommend EmPower to anyone I know. If I cannot get the materials agreed upon in our original contact M425's within the next 2-3 weeks and installation begins I am no longer interested in continuing with my contractual agreement with EmPower.

After 5 months, I am still waiting for the panels to arrive and be installed.

Do now use EmPower solar. I used EmPower for my solar panels 11 yrs ago and everything was good until I needed to put a new roof. What I paid for roof was almost the same that paid to Empower to remove and reinstall the panels. After that the system constantly shows that I am producing 0 energy. I was reaching out to EmPower on multiple occasions and yesterday I got my answer, since it’s been over 10 yrs post installation and I can’t prove it worked before I put new roof ( it did), now I have to pay to have it fix.

I’ve never regretted doing business with a company like I have with Empower solar. After having our system for several years now I can honestly say they do not stand behind their customers like they claim.
After signing our contract to install our system we got lost in they system within their office. Never received any updates unless I called looking for them. They claimed it was the town that wouldn’t issue the permit but I called the town and the permit wasn’t even applied for. After 8 months of getting the run around I finally get an installation date.
Have to say the installation crew were great. Very professional and worked very hard. They wrapped up and I couldn’t be happier. Now I’m back to dealing with the office. Another 2 1/2 weeks of run around before they say I can go live.
FINALLY we’re live. They claimed that if I ever had a problem with my system they would call me in case I didn’t see or realize it was a problem because they monitor it as well. HUGE lie. One day walking past the inverter I hit the button to check on it and it’s in error state. Thought it must’ve been recent because Empower said they call me if I had an issue. I find out my system was in that state from April to the end of July. Prime production months and I’m producing ZERO. No email, no phone call or notification of any kind. I get that resolved and hope all is well.
Now fast forward 2 years of having the system and we come home to a massive leak in our ceiling. I track it down to a lag bolt that missed the rafter, was removed but never sealed. Water pouring out of a ceiling fan. I call and they take care of it.
Now today, 3/8/21, I have Empower back at my house for a 2nd roof leak 8” from the previous leak. I tracked that down to a nail removed in that area. Was it removed for installation and never leaked? Was it removed when they did the previous repair? I don’t know because I can’t remove the panels to inspect my roof. When the system was installed I was informed if I attempted to remove a panel I could void my warranty. Technicians went up and checked it out. Claimed they didn’t see anything and couldn’t duplicate the leak but installed flashing in that area just in case. 2 hours after they leave I get a bill for that service call for $342.10. I’m being billed to fix a 2nd leak I have from a solar system installed by Empower.
I’ve never dealt with a company that made so many claims but failed to meet almost all of them on a $42,000 system. If I could transfer my warranty to another company I would in a minute.
