EmPower Solar seeks an experienced, personable, motivated, and organized individual to perform duties as a Customer Service Associate to support and grow the company.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Solar Field Operations Assistant & Quality Control Specialist position involves managing and overseeing the operational aspects of solar and battery systems, ensuring quality control, and providing customer support. Key responsibilities include creating and preparing customer profiles for data portal integration, performing photo audits and quality control inspections on solar and battery systems, and mapping and managing system layouts in data portals. Additionally, the role includes remotely energizing systems pending successful inspections and utility approvals, conducting client walkthroughs post-commissioning, and explaining system operation options.

The position also supports the field operations team with schedule management, assists Solar Technicians and Team Managers with additional duties and special projects, and responds to monitoring companies (e.g., Tesla, EnPhase) to troubleshoot issues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

TARGET OUTCOMES 

  • Optimized System Performance and Compliance: Ensure all solar and battery systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with industry standards through thorough quality control inspections, photo audits, and data portal management.
  • Streamlined Operations and Customer Experience: Enhance overall field operations by efficiently managing schedules, supporting Field Leadership, and coordinating with monitoring companies for troubleshooting. Additionally, ensure a smooth and informed customer experience by successfully conducting client walkthroughs, explaining system operations, and providing timely support post-commissioning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Tasks

  • Solar & battery data portal customer profile creation, preparation for commissioning
  • Perform photo audits & Quality Control Inspections on solar & battery systems
  • Data portal system layout mapping & management
  • Remote system energization pending satisfactory inspections & utility approval
  • Perform remote “client walkthrough” after commissioning if needed, explain system operation options
  • Assist field operations team with schedule management
  • Attend and take diligent notes for all webinar and training releases for system we install and services
  • Assist Solar Technician & Team Managers with additional duties and special projects as needed
  • Respond to monitoring companies (ex. Tesla, EnPhase, etc) to troubleshoot issues

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should also:

  • Have relevant work experience in the solar field operations. 
  • Have basic knowledge of solar, renewable energy, sustainability, etc.
  • Have experience working in a business environment.
  • Be capable of working on a team as well as operating independently with confidence. 
  • Be friendly, personable, professional, friendly, proactive. 
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Be comfortable multi-tasking and managing time effectively.
  • Have a passion for the clean renewable category. 

HOURS, COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

This is a preferred full-time position. This position allows for a flexible schedule, with telecommuting being an option. Strongly preferred start time at 9:00 AM. The typical day is 8 hours with a break for lunch. 

Employee shall be hourly and receive an annual compensation commensurate with experience. Starting salary for this position will be $24 – $26.50 per hour. Compensation will be increased with time in service and strong performance. Additionally, employee may be eligible for structured performance-based bonuses after successful completion of the initial employment period.
